Riding your Sea-Doo requires wearing the proper watercraft gear. Not only does it make your experience more comfortable and fun, but specially designed watercraft apparel keeps you safe. Sea-Doo also makes you look great at the same time.
Essential watercraft gear
Life jacket or personal flotation device (PFD)
Also called life vests, PFDs provide the best mix of comfort and protection. They fit tightly around your torso but don’t interfere with your ability to control the craft. The best ones are labelled inside as ‘U.S. Coast Guard-approved’. The ideal fit is snug yet comfortable. Check if the PFD is designed for an adult or a child, and find one with the right chest dimensions and weight range.
Neoprene shorts
When it comes to watercraft gear, these are a must. Neoprene’s form-fitting protection prevents injuries to the lower body when striking the water. It’s also acts as a cushion between your body and the saddle while limiting exposure to the jet pump thrust.
Gloves and boots
Watercraft apparel for your hands and feet not only protect these vulnerable body parts, it also provides superior grip and traction at key contact points. The more control you have of your craft, the safer you are.
Sunglasses or goggles
Eye protection shields your eyes from the wind and splashing water. Most importantly, it keeps you vision clear when riding.
Weather-dependent watercraft gear
This may include wet suits or neoprene riding suits for colder conditions, and headwear for added warmth or protection from the sun.
